The Mississippi School of the Arts’ Senior class of 2022 will participate in commencement exercises on Friday, May 27, 2022, at 2:00pm. Limited tickets to the event, in Mary J. Lampton Auditorium, will be distributed by seniors. Please contact a senior to secure your seat.

Commencement Program

Katie Ginn, an MSA dance alumna and hall of fame recipient, is the guest speaker. Katie is the founder and director of Dance at William Carey University.

  • Pledge — Kurtai Mitchell (SGA President)
  • Greetings — Dr. Suzanne Hirsch (Executive Director)
  • Salutatorian’s Address — Lillian Janell Denney
  • Valedictorian’s Address — MyKayla Janae Hall
  • Remarks — Dr. Kim Benton (Mississippi Department of Education)
  • Commencement Address — Katie Ginn (Guest Speaker)
  • Presentation of Diplomas — Dr. Suzanne Hirsch (Exec. Director), Avery Peagler (Principal)
  • Special Music — “Grow” by Sarah Quartel, “MSA Alma Mater” by Dr. Jeanne Lebow and Patton Rice. Both selections to be performed by members of the MSA Chorale.
  • Recessional — “The Rejoicing” from Music for the Royal Fireworks by George Frideric Handel
