Online Orientation will be available starting June 15th, 2019.

Welcome to orientation! As a way to prepare new students for the MSA on-campus experience, we’ve provided an orientation session for students to complete online at individual pace. Not only do they get a better outlook of what to experience, but this also reduces the amount of information crammed at the beginning of the school year. Instead, students have all summer to grow into the experience.

Incoming MSA juniors and MSA rising seniors will need to complete online orientation prior to move-in day. This course will be facilitated in Moodle, the school’s online learning management system.

Getting Started

When accepted students commit to attending Mississippi School of the Arts, they will attend New Student Day and receive pertinent information. This will include account credentials used to login to and complete the online orientation course in Moodle.

The online orientation course is divided into specific modules which includes the following:

  • General Information
  • Safety Procedures
  • Academics & Discipline
  • Rules and Regulations
  • Plagiarism and Assessment
  • Technology Resources
  • Cyberbullying and Assessment
  • more…

A certificate will be automatically issued to you after successfully completing the orientation. MSA administration will check your status of student orientation during move-in day registration. Printing the certificate is not required.

Begin Online Orientation

  1. Incoming Juniors: Start online orientation by clicking the course login button below. Enter your assigned MSANET / Moodle account username and password shown on the Online Student Orientation information sheet given to you during New Student Day (or received by postal mail).
  2. Rising Seniors: You should already know MSANET / Moodle account information from junior year. Simply click the button below and login with your school username and password.

Login To Orientation Course

If you can’t login using your MSANET/Moodle account, please try the options below:

  1. Incoming juniors, please make sure you’re entering your case-sensitive username and password exactly as shown on your Online Student Orientation information sheet.
  2. If you’ve already changed your orientation account password using our online password change utility, the default password shown on your Online Student Orientation information sheet is no longer valid and cannot be used to login. You’ll need to use the new password you entered in the password change utility.
  3. The Forgot Password feature of Moodle cannot be used to retrieve or change your orientation account password. Please contact the Technology Office for support. You may be asked to provide specific information prior to resetting your account password.
