Cass Simmons will teach master classes to dance students at MSA as part of the Guest Artist Residency Program.
“MSA Dance Alum Returns to Teach Classes“
Cass Simmons, class of 2014 alumna of the dance program at Mississippi School of the Arts, graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi Summa Cum Laude in May 2018 and received a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Dance Performance and Choreography. In 2017, she performed Trajectory choreographed by Kelly Ferris Lester and presented research on connecting dance performance and somatic practices to find efficiency and embodiment of movement at the Lucky 7 Somatics Conference in Zion, Utah. Cass is currently working to become a certified Somatic Movement Therapist in Shin Somatics® along with pursuing graduate school. In May of 2018, Cass enrolled in the Masters of Fine Arts year residency program at Hollins University based in Roanoke, Virginia that is a highly rigorous program that dually resides in Frankfurt, Germany. After studying dance in London and Frankfurt, Cass continuously focuses on spreading her repertoire of skills through international study and dance.
