The 2023-2024 “Show Us Your Best, Mississippi!” art contest is live! We invite Mississippi students in grades 7-10 to submit their best art to potentially win prizes. Contest due date is December 30, 2023. For more information about the contest, view the Entry Form.

Visual Arts: Submit a drawing or painting of any subject. Show us your best!

Literary Arts: Submit a written story or poem (No more than 1000 words, typed). Show us your best!

Filmmaking: Submit a one-minute film, uploaded to YouTube. Show us your best!

Theatre: Submit a video (uploaded to YouTube) of a thirty-second monologue performed by the applicant from a published play.

Dance: Submit a thirty-second video (uploaded to YouTube) of an original dance.

Vocal Music: Submit a thirty-second video (uploaded to YouTube) of a song performance of your choice.
Frequently Asked Questions
Who is eligible to participate?
All residents of Mississippi in grades 7-10 are eligible to participate. Home-schooled students are also encouraged to participate!
When will winners be announced?
Winners will be announced after auditions in late spring! We will mail all prizes at the same time.
How should applicants submit their entries?
All entries should be emailed to artcontest@msabrookhaven.org no later than December 30th. Each contestant can submit one entry in up to three categories!
Prizes!
One Overall Winner: $250 Gift Card + MSA Summer Camp Scholarship (Value $350) or $350 MSA Scholarship if applicant is 10th grader
All contestants will receive a prize for entering! Honorable Mention prizes will be given for outstanding entries. All prizes are mailed in late spring after MSA Auditions for 10th graders are completed.
