Due to the Governor’s declaration on March 19, 2020, the Mississippi School of the Arts (MSA) will not move back into the residence halls until Sunday, April 19. From March 23 through April 17, students will receive instruction via distance learning on Moodle. Our faculty have been working this week to prepare to accommodate individual students as needed. Teachers will send information to students on by email and through Moodle regarding expectations for the week and assignments.

We have contacted all students indicating they do not have internet or a computer. Students without computers were eligible to check out on loan a Chromebook from the school. Internet access continues to be a challenge. We are working with each student individually to assess their capabilities to complete their assignments.

We have sanitized common areas to ensure a clean and safe living/learning environment when students return. Rooms were disinfected and per request from students, perishable foods/trash was removed from the building. Please use the coming weeks to stay at home and refrain from unnecessary travel or gatherings. Use social media to have conversations with each other and communicate.

We will continue to monitor events and consult with health professionals and MDE. If the Government issues further directives, we will adjust our plan accordingly.
