Some of the seniors from the class of 2017 recently announced their post-secondary decisions during National College Signing Day in Mary Jane Lampton Auditorium. The initiative, geared towards pushing students to attend an institution of higher learning, was recognized around the nation as students took to Instagram, Facebook, and other social media platforms to post photos of their decisions, as well as hash-tagging #Collegiance for a chance to win prizes by the College Board.

With a class total scholarship/financial aid amount to date being over $10 million dollars, College Signing Day set the tone for completion of the academic year and a look forward towards university admission in the fall. Some of the college choices included the University of Southern Mississippi, Tougaloo College, Millsaps College, Belhaven University, Mississippi State University, University of Louisiana at Lafayette, Columbia University, AMDA Los Angeles, Howard University, University of Memphis, Mississippi College, Savannah College of Art and Design, Seattle Pacific University, and more.
