Lori Brit (left) received Teacher of the Year at MSA’s annual student awards day. It was presented by Debra Price, principal at Mississippi School of the Arts. Lori will also retire with over 30 years in education.

Social Studies instructor, Lori Britt, will retire with over 30 years in public education. She has also been chosen as MSA’s Teacher of the Year. Lori received this award at the school’s annual student awards day on May 1st.

Lori, a veteran teacher in history, economics and government, has taught in Hattiesburg Public School District, Lincoln County Alternative School and Loyd Star Attendance Center in the Lincoln County School District. While at Loyd Star, she was also noted as a tournament championship-winning coach in high school girls basketball.

Lori’s career ends at Mississippi School of the Arts, where she has maintained academically high state test scores in U.S. History and has inspired hundreds of students in classroom instruction from all over our state.

“This is the best job I’ve ever had,” she said.
