Mississippi School of the Arts completed the second year of the Wake, Rise, Walk challenge. Since January, students and staff were encouraged to wear pedometers and record their steps each day. As a part of National Breakfast Week, those with the highest participation were awarded prizes.

Students that participated and achieved the most steps:

  • 1st place – Katelyn Bergeron with 416,352 steps
  • 2nd place – Jon’elle Hahn with 335,490 steps
  • 3rd place – Octavian Singleton with 298,858 steps

The winners received SoundPEATS Wireless Headphones Sport Bluetooth Earbuds. Top Staff Participant was Sudie Palomarez with 626,712 steps. Students requested a fitness ball for the campus fitness room. The MSA Wellness Committee presented the Residence Life staff with a Superior Fitness 600 lb Exercise / Yoga / Stability Ball with Heavy Duty Gym Quality Resistance Bands & Pump. We encourage our students to use the equipment provided in the fitness room to assist them with obtaining their healthy fitness goals.
